TurkStat: Turkey's steel exports increased by 44.3% in January-April period
According to preliminary foreign trade data compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Undersecretariat of Customs, Turkey's foreign trade deficit in April this year decreased by 33.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, amounting to $3.06 billion. In the January-April period of the year, Turkey's foreign trade deficit decreased by 19.7 percent year on year to $14.13 billion.
In April, Turkey's iron and steel exports ranked third in the list of products with the highest export value in the country, reaching $1.28 billion, up 97.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, the export value of iron or steel goods, which ranked eighth in the list of the country's products with the highest export value in the month in question, increased by 77.3 percent year on year to $696.86 million.
In the January-April period, Turkey's iron and steel export value increased by 44.3 percent year on year to $4.05 billion, while the export value of iron and steel goods increased by 25.9 percent year on year to $2.51 billion.
